Keeping the Fire Burning

Couples who are not yet ready to take the plunge have to find a way to make their dating relationship as fresh and exciting as ever. Here are some of the tips on how to keep the fire burning: 1)  Do something exciting together every week or at least every other week. Seek avenues that are totally out of your comfort zones such as roughing it out in the woods if you are the indoor type of person, or trying out extreme adventures like scuba diving, zip lining or wakeboarding if you are the safe type of person. The exhilarating feeling of these extreme activities raises the adrenaline a notch higher just to prod you both into some hot loving (with scientific basis, mind you). 2)  Next, experiment with doing new things together. Be it cooking new recipes or scavenging a sex shop for new toys to try on, sharing such experiences… Read more »

A Collector’s Life

I became a collector when I was 10 years of age some 50 years ago and I am still collecting things today. I began with a stamp album that I had received as a Christmas present. My parents had kept all of the used Christmas stamps from stamped envelopes that had arrived that Christmas so my collection began immediately. Later, in my teenage years I started to collect other collectibles like postcards and porcelain thimbles (of which I now have several hundred). I still have every collection I ever started. Some are more interesting than others and I often wonder if I have an antique among my collection somewhere. I have never gotten anything valued but some items look like they might be of value to another collector. In early adulthood I had a collecting passion for small glass bottles, glass containers and small antique glass items. Some of them are very… Read more »

Why Buy a Crepe Maker?

If you love the wonderful thin crepes that you get in restaurants but you have never succeeded at making anything but a pancake which is much too thick at home, you might consider buying a crepe maker. Of course, any chef will tell you that crepes are easy and that all you have to do is follow their recipe and all will be well using a simple skillet, but that is clearly not the case for everyone. There is a knack to making crepes by hand that not all of us have managed to master. The problem with crepes is that it is difficult to get the batter to the right consistency so that it spreads in the pan to create a thin crepe. With a crepes maker, the problem is resolved in one of two ways. There is a style of gadget where you dip the pan in the… Read more »

Why You Should Always Use a Hardwood Door

Many people do not give much thought to the doors of their home or office. As long as they look nice and close or open appropriately people tend to see them as a non-issue. However, people should take a closer look at what their doors are made of. There are several reasons why a hardwood door is of much greater utility than the common building materials currently being used. Those reasons pertain to durability, ease of crafting, intricate detail work, and protective quality. The most common type of door seen in the modern home is actually nothing more than two thin sheets of wood, aluminum, or plastic attached to an interior frame. These doors provide a modicum of privacy but they are completely ineffective as anything more than a temporary sight screen. These types of doors are very cheap to construct and install. This makes them popular. However, they are… Read more »
