3D Scanners Are Valuable for Many Applications
The technology of 3D scanners permits the capture of depth and relief digital images by incorporating complicated equations and vector parameters. These vector parameters provide the different distances from the camera, which determines the amount of light each section of the examined object receives. This produces a final image with the realistic 3 dimensional depth and relief not found in traditional digital cameras. There are two types of 3D scanners, the contact and the non-contact. The contact scanner is self-explanatory, in that it requires actual contact with the object being scanned and will physically feel all points of the object. However, because direct contact is not always feasible for examination, the primarily preferred type is the non-contact 3D scanner, which deciphers reflected information by using different forms of light.
