The pros of wind power are plentiful. Its main advantages are the fact that it’s totally renewable and non-polluting. There are also many cons of wind power. It can only be generated when the wind is blowing so you need a secondary backup power source. These backup batteries can be very expensive and need replacing periodically. Some critics also claim that wind turbines are excessively noisy and an eyesore on our otherwise beautiful rural landscape. This is purely a personal opinion and can’t be considered factual. Likewise, some bird preservation groups believe that birds are being badly affected by wind turbines. There are no figures to suggest that a large number of birds are injured or killed by wind turbines but it is often sensible to ensure you aren’t planning to erect one in a particular species’ migration path.
