Rubber Band Ligation This is one of the most commonly performed hemroid treatment procedures. It is done in an office setting and is very effective with a minimum of both short term and long term side effects. A special tool is used to shoot small bands around the hemorrhoids, which cuts of the blood supply to the hemorrhoid. Once the blood supply is cut off, the hemorrhoid naturally dries up and falls right off. It usually takes about a week for the hemorrhoid to fall off. There is usually only a small amount of pain involved in this procedure.
